A safe, supportive, and empowering home for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community at UBC.The Pride Collective is a student-led organization that facilitates events, provides resources, and creates inclusive spaces. About Us


The Pride Collective is an AMS resource group that offers educational and social services dealing with sexual and gender diversity to the UBC community, including but not limited to students, staff, and faculty. PCol provides support and information to those who self identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, non-binary, two-spirit, asexual, queer, questioning, intersex, other identities, those who do not identify and allies; assists people who are coming out; supplies a forum for dialogue about sexuality and gender identity; holds social events, and educates the wider UBC community about the variation in human sexuality and gender identity. Members of the group come from diverse backgrounds and everyone is welcome regardless of sexuality or gender. Come find us in the AMS Nest, room 2103 in the Resource Groups Centre on the second floor.


General Meetings

Everyone is welcome to our weekly collective meetings. This is where votes happen to make important decisions on the course of the Pride Collective and is the best place to have your voice be heard.General Meetings are at 5PM on Fridays in LIFE2202 starting September 13th, 2024.


Comittees

Committees are how the Pride Collective operates! These are the distinct units that bring votes forward to General Meetings, spend budget allocations, and play a key role in the Pride Collective’s ability to provide for the community. Events


The Pride Collective hosts a variety of events! We encourage people to reach out and create their own events. To create your own events you can pitch your idea in person at our general meetings, organizational meetings, or events committee meetings. You can also email us: [email protected]. For smaller events like hangouts, share your ideas/plans on our Discord.The best places to get event updates are our Discord and Instagram.

Discussion Groups


The Pride Collective’s discussion groups revolve around fostering diverse discussions and queer community building. These weekly drop-in groups are informal, low-commitment, and easily accessible to all students, faculty, and community members. Each group meets in the Pride Lounge, NEST 2103.Groups run weekly but if a facilitator is unavailable, a group may be cancelled for that week, and it will be announced on Discord and Instagram.Our groups include:

Hungry Hamper


The Hungry Hamper is a service provided by the UBC Pride Collective that is there to make sure people have enough to eat, which means having access to not just food, but nutritious food.According to Statistics Canada 40% of students don’t have secure access to food, a rate that’s even higher among marginalized groups.The Hungry Hamper aims to focus marginalized groups, specifically 2SLGBTQ+ so that they can access food in a safe, comfortable way. But like the rest of The Pride Collective, it is open to all!So how does The Hungry Hamper work?Located just outside the Pride Lounge (NEST 2103). You simply take what you need as you need it! And if you have any unopened non-perishable goods to donate, please feel free to drop them off!

Gender Empowerment Store


The GES provides free gender-affirming products that aren't safely or affordably accessible to people. Gender affirming gear include but are not limited to packers, binders, padding, gaffs and boxers.The GES takes requests and accepts donations!Orders are currently on hold; for more information, send an email to [email protected] or contact through Instagram: (@ges.prideubc).
